ZAKAT MEANING
Zakat is the third pillar of Islam and a compulsory act of worship for Muslims who meet the required conditions. The term Zakat means purification, reflecting its role in cleansing wealth and nurturing compassion.
In practice, Zakat involves giving a fixed portion of one’s eligible wealth, once it reaches the required period (haul), to support designated groups of those in need.
