Malaysia is currently experiencing severe floods, especially in Kelantan and Terengganu, with conditions projected to worsen and potentially surpass the disastrous 2014 floods.
As of now, the flood situation has worsened, impacting nine states, including Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang, Johor, Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan. Over 137,000 individuals have been evacuated to temporary relief centers nationwide.
Kelantan and Terengganu are the most severely affected, with significant river levels breaching danger thresholds in many areas.
The continuous rainfall has resulted in significant property damage, loss of life, and displacement, with the floods considered some of the worst in the past decade.
Local Emergency Relief
Everyone needs to prepare and play a role in reducing disaster risk, to be able to control the situation during the disaster and respond appropriately during the post-disaster phase as the tragedy or catastrophe happened unexpectedly.
Therefore, Islamic Relief Malaysia through the Local Emergency Relief campaign is aiming to raise RM500,000 to alleviate the suffering of those affected by disasters in Malaysia.
This platform will be open throughout the year to enable the public to fulfill their social obligations by contributing to this campaign. This initiative also enables Islamic Relief Malaysia to have a readily available fund to respond immediately as needed in the occurrence of any disaster or catastrophe.

- Man-made disasters such as fires, road accidents, collapsed buildings, industrial accidents, and civil riots.
- Hybrid disasters include the two elements of disasters such as building collapses during floods and road accidents during hurricanes.
