The crisis in Syria is entering its 9th year. And during that time the Syrian people suffer loss, fear and hunger. However, to what extent are there signs of recovery?
“It was 4 am. It felt like Judgement Day. We fled outside and saw thousands of people on the streets with just the clothes on their backs. So many buildings were totally destroyed and I saw tens of people under the rubble.”
The death toll in Turkiye and Syria passes 20,000 and the numbers are expected to rise.
Homes, hospitals, schools, mosques, and other infrastructure were also destroyed due to the tragedy.
