The crisis in Syria is entering its 11th year. And during that time the Syrian people suffer loss, fear and hunger. However, to what extent are there signs of recovery? Every day the world is shocked by heart breaking news of children injured by bombs, women found under rubbles, men injured or shot dead while senior citizens affected badly by the catastrophe. Where is the peace they are supposed to enjoy?
To-date more than 14 million Syrians living in the country are in need of humanitarian assistance while over 6.7 million have fled their homes to seek protection. Out of that number, 5.6 million are registered as Syrian refugees in neighbouring countries.
Since 2011, Islamic Relief has been providing emergency assistance to the Syrian people at the border and in 2012 it took steps to continue its mission to help those in need in Syria.
