{"id":8951,"date":"2019-01-16T10:25:01","date_gmt":"2019-01-16T02:25:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/islamic-relief.org.my\/sandbox_www\/?p=8951"},"modified":"2019-01-16T10:32:16","modified_gmt":"2019-01-16T02:32:16","slug":"over-330-families-supported","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/islamic-relief.org.my\/sandbox_www\/over-330-families-supported\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 330 Families Supported"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<strong>Lebanon, 15 Jan 2019<\/strong> \u2013 More than 330 families were supported through emergency response in the last few days as a result of expected storm in the coming days.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Following the situation, Islamic Relief (IR) Lebanon has responded instantly in Bekaa Valley as soon as they received access to the area and to the emergency fund.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Based on the first situational analysis, 151 informal settlements were affected by heavy rains, with 12 settlements completely flooded and another 64 partially flooded.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At least 407 tents were destroyed, affecting more than 2,000 refugees. Referrals are expected to be received and will increase in numbers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>IR Lebanon is now working hand-in-hand with local partners to asses the actual situation and identify the camps for further intervention.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and other organisations are also working to respond to the crisis.
