Ordinary men, women, and children have borne the brunt of this conflict, they continue to suffer a war that does not seem to have an end in sight.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The war continues to impact every aspect of life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Imran Madden, Islamic Relief\u2019s UK Director, said:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>\u201cThe Syrian conflict has lasted longer than the Second World War: we need a political solution. Despite the situation in Syria having become increasingly dangerous we continue to operate on the ground. Our humanitarian work in and around the country has been a multi-faceted effort, we have spent \u00a3239 million on projects inside Syria and neighbouring countries which are hosting large refugee populations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We\u2019ve helped\u00a0<strong>over four million people<\/strong>\u00a0inside Syria. We have\u00a0<strong>provided over half a million winter kits<\/strong>\u00a0to displaced people and given\u00a0<strong>out 2.3 million food parcels<\/strong>\u00a0to the most vulnerable people. Our comprehensive Syria emergency response includes:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"first\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Medical assistance<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Food parcels<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Shelter and cash assistance for rent<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Water and sanitation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Livelihoods and education support<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Psychosocial assistance<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"last\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Essential items such as baby kits, blankets, clothing, and heaters<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Islamic Relief has been responding to the crisis since 2011 and the situation is not getting any better.\u00a0<strong>Over 400,000 civilians have died<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>13.5 million need humanitarian aid<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>6.5 million people face acute food insecurity<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>1\/3 of all schools are unable to provide education<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>5.3 million people live in shelters without any cooking, heating, or washing facilities<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">For more details our work please read our\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.islamic-relief.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/Islamic-Relief-Syria-Response-2017.pdf\">latest report<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We will not stop helping the people of Syria, please support our work by making a\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.islamic-relief.org.uk\/syria-appeal\/\">donation<\/a>.
