
More that 200 people have been confirmed dead by the Malawi government after Tropical Storm Freddy affected the southern part of the country.
Over 5000 people have been displaced after there houses got washed away.
The pictures in here show some parts of Blantyre, Chilobwe and Ndirande. Naotcha Primary School, one the evacuation centers in Blantyre and Chiradzulu district where an entire village of over 43 households have been washed away. The survivors are in need of basic items like food, proper shelter, clothes, sanitation facilities, clothes and Blankets.
On March 14, 2023, the president of Malawi, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera declared a state of disaster in the affected districts seeking for assistance as the government is overwhelmed with the magnitude of the disaster.
