Bandar Baru Bangi, 5 Mar 2018 – Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM) pays a warm welcome to a group of students from Soka University, Japan at Rohingya Integrated School of Excellence (RISE) to understand more in depth the humanitarian missions conducted by IRM.
The students are given extensive exposure on the main objective of RISE’s establishment which emphasises the focus to educate Rohingyan children living in Malaysia.
According to Vice Dean of the Faculty of International Liberal Arts, Soka University, Professor Ichiro Sugimoto, the primary objective of the visit is to understand the diversity of religions and cultures apart from gaining basic knowledge on humanitarian work.
He further adds that he is keen to explore IRM after obtaining recommendation from Economic Planning Unit (EPU) to discover the success of this organisation in humanitarian missions.
Sugimoto believes that Islam is far ahead from other religions and through this programme, the students can understand more about Islam from every angle as they are not fully aware about the religion.
The professor also hopes that this programme can be an eye-opener for every student to gain basic experience and new knowledge in shaping their own selfhood.
