Our sincerest condolences to the victims and family affected by the earthquake in SULAWESI and LOMBOK. Islamic Relief (IR) Indonesia is on the ground to do the response and will escalate its humanitarian response due to the earthquake and tsunami.




Islamic Relief Indonesia (IR Indonesia) and local partner organisations, Pos Keadilan Peduli Ummat (PKPU) and Rumah Zakat (RZ) are assisting rescue and aid efforts in Donggala and Palu, as the death toll from the recent earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia continues to rise and could reach in the thousands. 


On September 28th, a tsunami triggered by a magnitude 7.5 earthquake in Palu and Donggala district, Sulawesi Tengah, Indonesia.


More than 750,000 people are in estimation exposed to the after effects of the earthquake.


The main road to Palu has been blocked due to a landslide, and a key bridge is damaged and not accessible. Donggala is not accessible and therefore as the extent of damage is yet to be known.


Thousands of homes have also collapsed, along with hospitals, hotels and a shopping centre.




On 29th July 2018, an earthquake of 6.4 magnitude which struck on the north coast of Lombok Island, and which was felt in Lombok as well as in Bali and Sumbawa.


The earthquake was triggered by the activity of the Naik Flores Cesar fault, however, no tsunami warning was issued.


On 6th August, over 500,000 people in Lombok, Indonesia are affected by the Earthquake measuring on a 7.0 Ritcher scale.


Islamic Relief Indonesia (IR Indonesia) team and KONSEPSI, a local Non-Government Office (NGO) in Indonesia are on the ground of Eastern Lombok to escalate its humanitarian response due to the earthquake.
