Islamic Relief is working on a Flood Mitigation Response with the local community to construct a river embankment in Khartoum North across 4 villages. 110 volunteers have constructed a 1,800 km long embankment in each village using 900 tonnes of sand. The embankment prevents the river water from breaking into homes and causing further damage.
